1868 - 2002
Annual
Records
The RHSFP Rugby Football Club may be unique in Scottish annals in that it
has a record of all matches played during the lifetime of the Club along
with individual performances of all those players who were involved in each
individual year.
It
has been decided to limit the annual records in this website, each of which
consists of a team photograph and tabular information, to around a dozen
specific and memorable years. It is also intended to produce a
CD in due course which will contain records of all one hundred and thirty
four years.

This year, Nat Watt's last after four
as captain, was one of the FP's most successful. The record of P15
W11 D3 L1 (the loss to West of Scotland) made them the 'Recognised
Champions of Scotland'. The Scotsman newspaper previewed the
season by noting that Watt's team would be short of six regulars from
the previous season, but that good football would be looked for at
Grange Loan. |

This was the second season that J.W.
Simpson had captained the Club. The season's result,
P20 W11 D5 L4 was excellent considering that the four defeats were all
very narrow. C.H. Adamson scored 10 tries out of a
total of 36 scored by all players. Mark Morrison was
in his second season. |

seven where the games won exceeded the games lost.

D0 L6, to enable 5th place in the unofficial championship.
R.S. Paterson scored 19 tries in the season, including 8 against

1962-63 was badly punctuated by
weather related cancellations, only one game out of twelve being played
early in 1963. Despite that the record of P22 W14 D0 L8 is
one of the best of this era. Jim Lacey scored 136
points, and the most frequent appearances were by Stuart Macmillan and
Arthur Orr with 20 apiece. |
